Wikipedia

Fiber

Fiber or fibre (from Latin: fibra) is a natural or artificial substance that is significantly longer than it is wide. Fibers are often used in the manufacture of other materials. The strongest engineering materials often incorporate fibers, for example carbon fiber and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene.

Synthetic fibers can often be produced very cheaply and in large amounts compared to natural fibers, but for clothing natural fibers can give some benefits, such as comfort, over their synthetic counterparts.

Ejemplos de uso de FIBERS

2. It is made of carbon nanotubes: microscopic, hollow fibers whose walls are just one atom thick.
3. The decline in use of cotton fibers over time in favor of synthetic chemical fibers and the pressure of high competition at the international level have also produced a serious loss of export revenues.
4. Its fibers do not evaporate into air or dissolve in water.
5. Other natural fibers used in textiles include hemp, bamboo and organic wool.
